'Qwik24' smart store opened at vended filling station

The first smart store in the form of a container is now going into operation at an unmanned filling station of "BK Benzin-Kontor" in Bruckmühl, Upper Bavaria, Germany.

"With the 'Qwik24' smart store, we are ideally complementing our unmanned filling station, offering our customers an additional service directly at the location and generating new sales at the same time" explains Philipp Arner, Managing Director of Petrol Stations at "BK Benzin-Kontor.

Payment processing in the container of the company "Kesseböhmer" is carried out via a "Fillibri" self-check-out terminal, which is coupled with a "Huth" cash register.

Shop without staff

In addition to the classic convenience range with around 250 products, customers will also find products from a local country butcher's shop - ideal for spontaneous barbecues or quick shopping in between. In this way, this location achieves a clear profile compared to other shops - regardless of opening hours.

"We are pleased to have found a strong partner in 'Benzin-Kontor', with whom we were able to realize this new location. This shows once again how successful cooperation can be in medium-sized companies," says MCS Managing Director Torsten Eichinger. "Further locations in the mobility environment are planned for this year." www.mcs.eu
