anybill and Scheidt & Bachmann are launching a cooperation to establish digital receipts in the fuel station and convenience sector as a touchpoint for customer loyalty, CRM and retail media. The cooperation focuses on adding value and sets an example for modern customer communication directly at the point of sale.
Digital receipts as a key to smart customer insights
Operators of fuel stations and convenience stores are increasingly faced with the task of not only serving their customers efficiently, but also retaining them in the long term. This is exactly where the partnership between anybill and Scheidt & Bachmann comes in: It opens up new possibilities for addressing customers directly at the point of sale. The digital receipt will become an additional marketing channel through which oil companies and operators can draw attention to loyalty programs, promote interactions, and convert previously anonymous customers into known customers.
"Loyalty and data-driven marketing are more important than ever in the fuel & convenience sector. With Scheidt & Bachmann at our side, we provide operators with easy access to modern CRM, loyalty, and retail media solutions directly at the POS," explains Lea Frank, Co-Founder & CEO, anybill. „With our expertise in digital receipts and loyalty data management, we are excited to drive this development together."
Jörg M. Heilingbrunner, CEO, Scheidt & Bachmann Energy Retail Solutions GmbH, says:
"Our goal is to expand the point of sale in the fuel station environment to a digital service platform. Digital receipts play a central role in turning anonymous purchases into real customer relationships. With anybill, we are driving this development for-ward quickly and flexibly. Thanks to the open interfaces of our API-platform SIQMA Connect, other marketing channels can be integrated easily and efficiently."
Ralf Köppl, Head of Customer Teams & Sales, Scheidt & Bachmann, says:
"Digital receipts not only save costs, but also open up new ways of addressing customers. With anybill, we have a partner on board who combines technological strength with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the fuel station and convenience retail sector. Together, we offer a solution that is easy to integrate and creates real added value at the point of sale."
Activating retail media and customer loyalty directly at the POS
Retail media and customer loyalty are becoming increasingly relevant for operators of fuel stations and convenience stores. By taking advantage of the joint solution from anybill and Scheidt & Bachmann, retailers can play retail media content based on transaction data from the checkout and dynamically adapt it – for example, for personalised offers or promotional information.
At the same time, the digital receipt itself becomes an active CRM tool. Customers can be invited to participate in loyalty programs via this new touchpoint. In compliance with data protection regulations, this function is integrated into the payment process and comes without any additional effort for staff. This creates a continuous customer journey from checkout to long-term customer loyalty.
