Europe’s biggest service station reopens

Kuwaiti oil group Q8, marked its return to the Luxembourg motorway services market by formally inaugurating Europe’s biggest service station in Berchem under its new brand on Tuesday.

The event took place just over two months after the company officially took over operation of the site on 1 May, under a contract which will run until the end of April 2029.

After losing the concession for the Capellen site to Aral in 2024, after ten years in operation, Q8 won the tender to take over the Berchem site, the biggest in Europe and one of the largest in the world.

Until now, the stations were operated by Aral in the Luxembourg-France direction and Shell in the France-Luxembourg direction.
