Spanish wholesale food distributor Transgourmet Ibérica has launched a new convenience store format, Fresh&Go The first three franchised Suma-branded outlets have opened – two in Valencia and one in Palma.This new format is designed to cater to consumers who prioritise immediacy, quick solutions, and ready-to-eat fresh products.
The initial three Fresh&Go stores, spanning 80 to 120 square metres, are strategically located in busy, tourist-heavy city centres and offer a wide selection of prepared meals and takeout options at competitive prices.
While maintaining its focus as a local supermarket, Suma aims for Fresh&Go to become a leader in this emerging market need with its modern, dynamic, and adaptable approach.
Fresh&Go
Fresh&Go stores feature a bakery and coffee breakfast area with daily baked pastries, coffee, and fresh juice. A daily menu section offers competitively priced meal packs, including sandwiches, rolls, or salads with a drink.
The ready-to-go segment offers a range of products for immediate consumption, such as salads, wraps, hamburgers, tortillas, roasted chickens, and other pre-cooked dishes.
The offer also includes impulse and fresh products, such as snacks, cold drinks, smoothies, drinkable yoghurts, pre-cut fruit, and ice cream.
The entire product range and store layout are tailored to meet various needs, primarily offering single-serving or individual formats to align with contemporary consumer habits.
The store also houses a perfume section, a selection of electronic gadgets, and a florist's area.
Fresh&Go stores will operate 365 days a year with extended hours. Each location will customise its assortment, pricing, and branding to suit local demands.
The introduction of the convenience-focused Fresh&Go model coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Suma brand, well-known for its personalised service, quality and variety of products, and emphasis on excellent fresh produce.
