PEI, the leading authority in the energy handling equipment industry, today announced the publication of RP1800, Recommended Practices for Installation of Electrical Vehicle Charging Equipment at Motor Fueling Facilities.
The new document, developed by a technical committee of industry experts, addresses the unique safety considerations that arise when integrating electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure into existing motor fuel retail environments.
"This item fills a critical gap in industry guidance and safety," said PEI President Jason Blake. "Installing EV charging equipment at fueling stations requires careful consideration of both electrical safety requirements and the unique hazards present in fuel dispensing areas. This resource provides installers with the technical knowledge they need to complete these installations safely and correctly."
