Worlds largest H2 station built in China

The world’s largest hydrogen refuelling station has been completed in the city of Hami, in China’s Xinjiang region, and is now undergoing trial operations ahead of its official opening.

The Xuanli (Xinjiang) pure hydrogen production and refuelling station has been designed for heavy-duty applications, with the ability to refuel eight fuel-cell trucks simultaneously or around 300 vehicles per day, supported by a daily hydrogen output capacity of up to ten tonnes.

By comparison, the previous record holder — an H2 Mobility station in Düsseldorf that opened earlier this year — can dispense up to five tonnes of hydrogen per day and refuel three vehicles at the same time.

The Xinjiang facility therefore doubles daily throughput while more than doubling simultaneous refuelling capacity, highlighting a sharp contrast between Chinese and European approaches to hydrogen.
