The Indian retail sector has taken a step forward in sustainable mobility infrastructure with the introduction of battery swapping stations inside shopping malls.
Battery swapping solutions provider Indofast Energy has partnered with Nexus Select Trust to launch Quick Interchange Stations at two Bengaluru malls Nexus Shantiniketan and Nexus Whitefield. This marks the first deployment of battery swapping infrastructure across Nexus Select Malls properties.
The initiative aims to offer faster and more convenient energy solutions for electric vehicle users, particularly commuters, gig workers, delivery partners, and fleet operators who depend on electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers in urban areas.
By locating battery swapping stations at high-footfall retail destinations, the companies seek to address key challenges related to charging time and range anxiety.
