Sinopec, Sinopec Star Company and the Hong Kong and China Gas Company (TownGas), have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on hydrogen and green fuel infrastructure in Hong Kong, including refuelling, storage and transport
Under the memorandum, the three parties will work on hydrogen business development, hydrogen refuelling station construction, liquid hydrogen storage and transport technology, green methanol shipping applications and sustainable aviation fuel development, and will explore forming a joint venture.
Sinopec operates a petroleum, aviation and marine refuelling network across Hong Kong and runs the city’s first public hydrogen refuelling station, while Sinopec Star focuses on green hydrogen production, storage, transport and applications.
The companies said the partnership will prioritise locally produced hydrogen and support downstream hydrogen applications in Hong Kong.
