BP to move its global HQ back to London

BP will move its global headquarters by early 2028 to new offices in London that will also house ‌technical and engineering staff currently based in its Sunbury campus outside of the British capital, BP said in an emailed statement to Reuters on Wednesday.

"We are taking steps to build a simpler, stronger and ‌more valuable bp, including bringing our teams and leaders closer together. This move will help us work smarter and faster, strengthen decision-making, and create more opportunities for meaningful in-person collaboration," BP ‌said in an emailed statement. The new headquarters are set to be ‌in a development in London's Southwark called Timber Square, BP said.

BP, whose new CEO Meg O'Neill is starting on April 1, has improved the reliability ‌of its oil and gas production and refining assets since refocusing the company and its spending on its core hydrocarbon businesses about a ‌year ago.
