PMG partner with cloud-based platform

East Coast convenience retailer and fuel distributor Petroleum Marketing Group has chosen retail technology firm Mako Networks as its managed services provider, according to an announcement from Mako.

PMG will deploy Mako’s cloud-managed retail connectivity platform across all of its eligible retail fuel locations, including unbranded locations and branded sites under banners such as BP, Sunoco and Citgo.

PMG has an extensive network serving 1,200 gas stations from Maine to Florida. The retailer is also quietly growing its own retail arm, having made a handful of acquisitions in recent years, including the purchase of nine c-stores in the Carolinas in January.

Installations are underway and will continue throughout the year, according to the announcement. PMG is also considering additional services offered by Mako, including automated vulnerability scanning, remote tank monitor access, and remote access to POS and on-site equipment.

“Our retail locations require high uptime and strong security, and Mako delivers on both with offering minimal complexity and outstanding support,” said Anoush Rashidi, vice president of operations at PMG.
