KazMunayGas International, which operates in Romania under the Rompetrol brand, said on Monday that it will implement a project co-financed by European funds to develop electric charging stations for both light-duty vehicles (LDV) and heavy-duty vehicles (HDV) at 26 locations across Romania.
The total estimated value of the project is 8.2 million euro ($9.65 million), of which 2.01 million euro will be granted by the EU through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), KMGI said in a press release.
The investment will be implemented over 30 months, from June 2025 to December 2027, by KMGI Group member companies Rompetrol Financial Group, Rompetrol Downstream, and KMG Rompetrol Development.
The project contributes to the development of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) and accelerates the transition towards low-emission mobility, according to the company.
