The Gilbarco Veeder-Root (GVR) and EG On The Move relationship is one 25 years in the making, built on operational consistency, forecourt reliability, and commercial resilience.
Over the years, GVR has worked closely with EG On The Move’s leadership and site operations teams to deploy dependable fuel dispensing solutions, supported by an integrated service and support model. This collaboration has played a central role in enabling efficient day-to-day petrol forecourt management and convenience retail operations across the network.
In the latest partnership milestone, GVR installed and commissioned its Konect 200 kW All-in-One ultra-fast charger as part of the retailer’s transition to electrification at its EG On The Move’s Speke Service Station in Liverpool.
EG On The Move currently owns and operates a national portfolio of more than 160 roadside locations across the United Kingdom, providing customers with access to fuel, grocery and merchandise, foodservice, and EV charging retail channels.
Zuber Issa, CEO, EG On The Move said, “Our decision to trial EV charging with Gilbarco Veeder-Root is rooted in a long-standing roadside business partnership that underlines operational confidence from years of consistent performance and dependable service delivery. For example, I have previously described the SK700 pump dispenser as ‘the Ferrari of fuel dispensers,’ it is because of the precision and reliability we have come to expect, and such considerations gave us the confidence to extend this relationship into trialling GVR's EV charging infrastructure within our EV On The Move network.”
EG On The Move has developed a proprietary customer EV charging proposition, branded EV On The Move, designed to support drivers transitioning to electric vehicles. The business has invested in more than 300 publicly accessible charge points nationwide, establishing a growing and accessible charging network.
Early performance indicators show that sites equipped with high-power chargers deliver measurable uplifts in overall retail sales. Faster charging increases customer dwell time, creating additional opportunities for spend across grocery and merchandise, along with foodservice brand offerings. However, operational reliability remains a critical success factor. Industry experience demonstrates that uptime can be adversely affected when responsibility is fragmented across multiple vendors. In contrast, Gilbarco Veeder-Root's single-partner delivery model adopted by EV On The Move mitigates accountability gaps and enables faster fault resolution.
GVR's Konect EV Charging Ecosystem appealed to EG On The Move and other operators as it combines hardware, software and service within a single, accountable framework and allows forecourt operator to manage EV chargers alongside fuel pumps and retail operations, rather than around them.
