South Island fuel company in New Zealand, NPD has confirmed it is pulling back from retail convenience store operations at seven sites as it expands its 24 hour unmanned self serve fuel model.
The move will see Night ‘n Day take over the convenience store operations at NPD sites in Redwood, Yaldhurst, Moorhouse Avenue, Rolleston, Lower Queen Street, Frankton and Waimea.
NPD will continue to own and operate the fuel forecourts, which will remain open as 24 hour self serve sites.
The transition marks a major strategic shift for the fuel company as it increasingly focuses on fuel supply rather than traditional petrol station retail operations.
As part of the change, a range of fuel discounts will also disappear, including SuperGold Card discounts, supermarket docket offers, Corrections, Defence and student discounts.
NPD Chief Executive Barry Sheridan said the move would allow the company to focus on delivering competitive fuel pricing through its growing self serve network.
