Shell CEO Wael Sawan took home over $18 million in fiscal 2025, a significant increase from the $11 million he garnered in fiscal 2024, according to the company’s annual 20-F filing.
Sawan saw increases across several compensation categories, including base salary, taxable benefits, pension and share rewards. The year-over-year bump came despite Sawan receiving less in his annual bonus compared to 2024, per the filing.
Effective Jan. 1, Sawan received a salary increase of 4%, and his salary for 2026 is expected to be 1.6 million pounds, or more than $2.1 million at Aug. 14 conversion rates, according to the filing.
In his final full fiscal year leading 7-Eleven before retiring at the end of 2025, Joseph DePinto earned 13.4 billion yen, or about $84.3 million at Aug. 14 conversion rates, according to parent company Seven & i Holdings’ latest annual securities report. The increase was largely driven by the more than 10 billion yen severance payout he received upon his retirement, per the report.
Couche-Tard President and CEO Alex Miller garnered about CA$12.8 million, or $9.2 million at Aug. 14 conversion rates, in the company’s fiscal 2026. This was about CA$3.4 million more than he earned the previous year, according to Couche-Tard’s latest management information circular. Miller’s salary, share units and stock options were all higher in fiscal 2026, but the biggest change came in his annual incentive, which rose to CA$2.8 million from CA$223,000 in 2025.
Miller’s increased earnings came after a year when Couche-Tard’s U.S. division logged what Miller called its “best performance in years.”
