German hypermarket group Lekkerland will literally put itself in the shoes of its own customers from autumn: A subsidiary of the company will operate a petrol station in Frechen, Germany, from 1 October 2026.
The aim is to gain a better understanding of the needs of fuel station customers in order to develop better solutions. Wolfgang Cezane, Vice President SME & Sole Proprietor Petrol Station at Lekkerland explains:
"As an operator, we experience directly the economic, operational and personnel conditions that shape the fuel station business, especially that of medium-sized companies, which are an important pillar of the industry." Lekkerland wants to complement its own skills in cooperation with customers.
In this context, Cezane refers to the Convenience Foodservice Academy and the Convenience Experience Center. These premises, within walking distance of the Lekkerland headquarters in Frechen, combine theory and practice by offering training and development to customers and Lekkerland employees.
