SOCAR still interested in buying Turkish filling stations

Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR is interested in acquiring filling station assets of the Austrian oil group OMV in Turkey, said SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev. He said recently to an industry journal that this issue depends on conditions of the offer by the OMV."The OMV oil group has announced about the sale of its filling stations assets in Turkey and we are interested in that," Abdullayev said. "However, everything depends how favourable the conditions of this deal will be. Our experts are working on this issue." OMV previously stated that it plans to sell its Turkish subsidiary OMV Petrol Ofisi, the operators of Turkey's largest filling station network, since it intends to focus on production enterprises, as well as integrated activity on oil refining within the framework of its strategy.
