AKR, BP open first fuel station in Banten, Indonesia

Publicly listed fuel trader PT AKR Corporindo and British energy major BP kicked off on Wednesday the operation of their first retail fuel station, in South Tangerang, Banten, as part of a joint venture (JV) established by the companies.

The JV operates under the name of BP-AKR Fuels Retail. “We are pleased to announce the opening of the first BP-AKR service station. We aim to provide quality fuel to customers under the BP brand,” AKR president director Haryanto Adikoesoemo said in a press statement received on Wednesday.

The fuel station will offer three grades of gasoline at the service stations – BP90, BP92 and BP95, as well as diesel, encompassing BP’s unique ACTIVE technology formula. Through the JV, both private companies plan to operate 350 retail sites in Indonesia for the next decade, utilising AKR’s logistics and infrastructure.
