ExxonMobil donates $30,000 to Southeast Texas food bank

Southeast Texas Food Bank - Southeast Texas ranks 6th in food insecurity in the nation and 15% of the elderly living in poverty.

The Southeast Texas Food Bank is grateful to receive a $30,000 grant from ExxonMobil to help support the food banks Backpack Program, Mobile Food Pantry, and Holiday Food Box Distributions.

With the increase of food prices, it means, more people need help from food banks. It also makes it more expensive for food banks to keep shelves stocked.

ExxonMobil has partnered and supported the Southeast Texas Food Bank for over a decade on numerous awareness and fundraising events.

This holiday season, ExxonMobil has provided a $30,000 grant for the food bank to use for their Backpack Program, Mobile Food Pantry, and Holiday Food Box Distributions. In 2020, ExxonMobil completed more than 500 food distribution and pantry hours, earning the President’s Gold Volunteer Service Award.

The Southeast Texas Food Banks works with 130 non profit agencies within their eight counties served to supply food for those in need. With worldwide supply chain issues and delays, food product availability and costs are rising and at times, unpredictable when they might be received by the food bank.

During the holiday months, Southeast Texas Food Bank encourages their community to get involved by learning, committing, and speaking up about ways to ending hunger.
