The company has just opened its new ADNOC Oasis outlet, their first fully-autonomous shop that allows customers to purchase goods, including snacks and essentials, without using a scanning device or interacting with a cashier.
The new generation store is equipped with AI-powered cameras, electronic LED screens and weight sensors, all working together to provide the contactless experience. Situated at ADNOC’s Sheikh Khalifa Energy Complex, the store is currently exclusively available to the company’s staff for testing.
A statement from the company revealed that the contactless company will be widely rolled out in the UAE. The moves come as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to shift customer preference for shopping for daily essentials.
Since the onset of the crisis, spending through e-commerce and contactless payment options has hugely accelerated and the opening of this new store follows consumer choice.
