Cosmo Oil Marketing announced that it has switched to using electricity generated virtually entirely from renewable energy sources at a total of 603 service stations and vehicle inspection stations directly operated across Japan by its wholly owned subsidiary, Cosmo Oil Sales Corporation.
Although the Company originally announced in May 2021 that it aimed to undertake the switchover within three to five years, the effort was completed well ahead of schedule in approximately one year.
With this, all SS directly run by Cosmo Oil Sales are now essentially operated using electricity from renewable energy sources.
The switchover leveraged the collective assets of the Cosmo Energy Group (hereinafter referred to as "the Cosmo Group" or "the Group") while making use of the Cosmo Denki (Electricity) Business Green scheme.
