Couche-Tard opens its first EV chargers in Canada

Couche-Tard announced its first branded EV chargers are now open in Canada, located in Ange-Gardien, Quebec.

The company plans to deploy 200 charging sites across its gas station locations in North America.

As an introductory offer, the EV chargers will be free to use for a limited time. The launch and set-up of the chargers was a team effort by Couche-Tard. VP of Operations for Eastern Canada, Pierre Peters, had this to say:

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who worked on this project, from operations, e-mobility, global fuel and other global teams who made this possible. We are very proud of this first charging site with our branded EV Couche-Tard chargers, and this marks another important step in our journey with EVs in Quebec and Canada.

Couche-Tard’s sister brand, Circle K, launched its first EV charger in North America in Rock Hill, South Carolina, last month.

However, this is far from the first EV charging station for Alimentation Couche-Tard. Circle K in Norway opened their first EV charger four years ago, and the company is taking lessons from their European brands in their North American launch.
