Valero is partnering with GetUpside at more than 5,000 of its branded retail fuel locations.
GetUpside’s machine learning platform personalizes promotions to bring customers to the pump and then into the convenience store, aiming to increase profits for merchants. There are no upfront costs and merchants don’t have to invest in any new point-of-sale systems or software.
Cash-back offers are delivered through the GetUpside mobile app, profitably incentivizing new customers to visit and existing customers to visit more often, according to the company.
GetUpside c-store merchants have seen pump-to-c-store conversions double, existing customers’ basket sizes increase by 20%, and a 50% return on investment, according to the company.
“This agreement with Valero is another important example of a forward-thinking organisation changing the way it markets products to customers. We’re thrilled Valero locations will use GetUpside to unlock profit at the pump and in the c-store,” said Alex Kinnier, co-founder and CEO of GetUpside.
Approximately 7,000 retail outlets carry San Antonio-based Valero’s fuels and other products. The agreement for 5,000 Valero sites means that GetUpside's digital promotion platform is available at more than 27,000 U.S. fuel stations and c-stores, according to GetUpside.
Washington, D.C.-based GetUpside is a digital platform that personalizes brick-and-mortar commerce. Now live at tens of thousands of locations in 45 states, GetUpside creates personalized offers for millions of users that profitably drive incremental sales in real time. Fuel retailers such as Motiva, BP, Phillips 66, Circle K and RaceTrac use GetUpside’s platform.
