Major C-Store broker partners with CBD company

Company that represents Circle K, Speedway and other chains may bring a new cannabidiol-infused beverage to stores

A new cannabidiol (CBD)-infused beverage may hit Circle K, Speedway and other leading convenience-store chains in the near future.

Retail food and beverage broker Shankman & Associates Inc.—a major broker for the c-store industry—has partnered with Centr Brands Corp., a non-alcohol beverage company that recently launched its first product, a sparkling, low-calorie CBD beverage.

Kentwood, Mich.-based Shankman & Associates works with a variety of retailers, ranging from supermarkets and value stores to drug stores and vending companies. The convenience-store industry is one of its largest sectors, though.

Its c-store operator partners include Circle K, Speedway, MAPCO, Kwik Trip, TravelCenters of America, Thorntons, and United Dairy Farmers, while its c-store supplier partners, including the McLane Co., Core-Mark, S. Abraham & Sons and others. Shankman operators in Kentucky, Illinois, West Virginia, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
