Engen launches new café at petrol station stores

Engen is rolling out a new café brand at its Quickshop & Co convenience stores that dot petrol station forecourts across South Africa.

South Africa's leading petrol station by network size is upping its retail presence. At the start of 2021, Engen introduced its own private-label convenience brand, Quickshop & Co, focusing on braai goods, biltong, dried fruit, nuts, and confectioneries.

This private label brand developed into Quickshop & Co premium stores. These new-look stores will now house Engen's Café 365, offering coffee and baked goods.

The first two cafés will open in the Western Cape on Tuesday, one at the Engen Protea Heights in Brackenfell and the other at the Engen Tierberg in Parow.

"This will bring the Café 365 experience to patrons across South Africa, ensuring ready access to its friendly and convenient food experience, which features a range of everyday treats, tasty baked goods and healthy snacks, accompanied by Engen's unique blend of coffee that originates from Guatemala, Brazil and Tanzania," said Enoch Hermanus, Engen's general manager of retail, in a statement.
