Romania's OMV Petrom invests 800,000 euro in AdBlue production facility

OMV Petrom said it has started the local production of AdBlue, a chemical used to reduce the nitrous oxide emissions of diesel engines, following an investment of 800,000 euro ($821,123)

"We expect the demand for AdBlue in the Romanian market will increase by over 30% by 2027 compared to this year, to a level of about 130 million liters," OMV Petrom member of the executive board responsible for refining and marketing Radu Caprau said.

The new production capacity is located in the south of Bucharest, OMV Petrom said in a press release. In the first phase, AdBlue will be sold at OMV and Petrom filling stations and starting next year it will be also sold in other networks.
