Galp EV charging sky rockets in Iberia

Galp recorded 196,413 electric vehicle charges on its network in the first quarter, an increase of 60% over the same period last year.

The intensification of demand for the Galp network, in the period between January and March, is built on the record results of 2022, a year in which the company recorded a volume of more than 600 thousand shipments.

The expansion of the network of charging points has contributed decisively to this growth trend, with investment projects aimed at a global goal of 10,2025 points in Portugal and Spain by 2025

Galp thus anticipates the trends of a rapidly growing market, responding to the needs of consumers who have electric mobility as one of the most solid options for their own energy transition journey.

The International Energy Agency, in a recently published report, estimates that demand for electric vehicles will increase by 35 percent by 2023 to a total of 14 million units sold worldwide.

With several investments getting off the ground, the Galp network will experience a new impetus in the coming weeks. Vilamoura and Santa Maria da Feira are the new locations with chargers and will contribute, in total, with 126 more points in the Galp network from north to south of the country.
