Spanish MOC Cepsa continues to revolutionize its service stations. As part of its strategic plan Positive Motion, which proposes the conversion of fuel stations into spaces with a variety of commercial services, it has signed a collaboration agreement with the American restaurant group Reef.
Reef will use Cepsa stations to materialize the entry of its fast food brands in the Spanish market. This project, which has been successful in other countries, offers diversified gastronomic services adapted to local tastes at service stations. Customers can combine different gastronomic options and enjoy a digitized and differential experience.
Thus, with a view to the start of its operations in Spain, Reef will install at Cepsa fuel stations points of restoration of brands such as TGI Fridays, Wow Bao, Quiznos, Another Wing, Sides, Salad Works and 800 Degrees Pizza. Reef is owned by Mubadala (the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund that controls Cepsa) and Oaktree.
Reef will install multi-brand catering points at gas stations
The first Cepsa and Reef Food Hall will open its doors in Getafe, at the gas station next to the Madrid-Toledo road (A-42), but then it will do so in urban centres. In this way, it plans to follow the strategy previously outlined in the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy.
The gastronomic offer will seek to adapt to local tastes, although the experience in other countries allows to open space to popular recipes of Oishi Burger dishes of Greek cuisine of The Athenian, Neapolitan pizzas of 800 Degrees Pizza and products of pastries and artisan bakery of R'spiro.
The first corners of R'spiro, which were launched in September 2022, aims to deploy both in its network of service stations and in the main commercial points of large cities. At the beginning of June, the company already had 155 operational points of sale. In line with this evolution, the goal is to close 2023 with 250 R'spiro.
