Probably, in about two years from now, Shell-branded petrol stations will be a thing of the past in Finland, Sweden and Norway.
The Shell brand licensee in those countries, Finnish energy company St1, is aiming to brand all of its petrol stations under its own name.
In practice, the change will take place in a couple of years, when the current licensing agreement expires.
St1 acquired the majority of Shell's petrol station operations in the three Nordic countries in 2010. The firm has around 1,270 petrol stations under both the St1 and Shell brands in those countries.
"A single brand strategy supports the goals of our energy transition roadmap," Juha Vanninen, the company's sales and network director said in a press release.
