Residents of Saint-Saud-Lacoussière, Dordogne, France, raised €170,000 in just a few days to fund the opening of a new petrol station.
The previous station had closed in December 2022, and the villagers decided to act by creating a new station and asking private individuals to subscribe.
They contributed up to €10,000 each, which raised €170,000 in just a few days. The rest of the funds needed to reopen the business were provided by a bank loan. The station is selling around 1,000 litres of fuel a day.
